The Fashion Institute of Technology holds a graduating student exhibition, which showcases work from students within the art and design majors.
The concept for the invitation is to unify all of the similar, yet different, majors, and to have one postcard that represents all of the majors. All of the majors are involved in some sort of design, but we are all just slightly
different. My idea was based off
the saying “cut from the same cloth.” Instead of just using a cloth, I decided to go a little more abstract.
I thought about beef, and how there are so many different cuts, and different types of steaks yet… and I started to research beef charts that you would see at a butcher shop. So I decided to design my invite in the style of these charts, with the cattle diagrams, and information tables, and than print it on a brown paper similar to butcher block paper
